Abstract: Sichuan province is located in the Yaangzi plate, where the strata are relatively complete from Sinian to Quaternary and the abundant organisms are distributed in various geological periods. The occurrence, evolution, vicissitudes and burial after death of organisms are all closely related to the changing geological environment, which is strictly controlled by the ecological environment. Therefore, the species and density of fossils in the stratum are extremely uneven. Along with the progress of the society and the development of economy, the national awareness on the importance of paleontological fossil resources and protection are constantly improving, the effective protection and reasonable development of the fossil have been gradually strengthened and obtained a certain result, but they still need to be further strengthened. This paper mainly introduces the construction scale and the number of paleontology geopark and museum in Sichuan Province, aiming at improving the geological relic protection consciousness of the whole people, which is of great significance to carry out the special paleontology fossil protection research.
